Ingredients (serves 4-6)
2 lbs. Atholl Glens Stewing Steak - diced
1 1/2 lbs. Onions
At least 1 lbs. Tomatoes or 16 oz. tin
Paprika to taste - about 2 teaspoons at least.
Teaspoon Caraway Seeds
Teaspoon Marjoram
2 Dessert Spoons Vinegar
Chop onions finely and fry in a little cooking oil till soft.
Add diced meat, salt, pepper, marjoram, caraway seeds and cut up tomatoes.
Stir all together in frying pan for a few minutes then put in casserole with just a little water or stock.
Cook very slowly for at least 3 hours, preferably 4 hours so it just barely simmers.
Before serving, put 1 tablespoon flour into a teacup of milk and mix well.
Add to stew and bring to boil for 2 or 3 minutes.
Serve with mashed potatoes or noodles.
