Atholl Estates, the home of Atholl Glens' eight member farms, are now offering organic breaks in three of it's self-catering lodges.
The three lodges, Old Blair, Glen Bruar and Convalloch, are surrounded by organic land, and the organic experience can then extend as far in to your holiday as you wish.
Atholl Glens will be more than happy to arrange delivery to the lodge of your choice. SImply telephone Evelyn with your order, on the usual Atholl Glens Order Line number, and let her know which lodge you would like it delivered to. If you prefer to order online, then for the 'Delivery Address' just enter your lodge (e.g. Glen Bruar Lodge) c/o Atholl Estates Office, Blair Atholl, Perthshire, PH18 5TH. Then in the 'further instructions' box type 'Atholl Estates Organic Break'. Evelyn will then arrange delivery to the Atholl Estates office for you, and one of the housekeepers will take it to the lodge ready for your arrival.
Atholl Glens and Atholl Estates are happy to recommend other suppliers of organic produce who can deliver - click here for a list. Guests should please inform the Estate Office staff of all deliveries they are expecting and make arrangements for onward delivery to the lodge - the housekeeper can usually do this, but advance warning is needed, particularly for chilled/frozen goods.
Our website has plenty of delicious organic recipes to try out, and each of our Organic Breaks lodges has a selection of organic cookery books in the kitchen for further inspiration.
Should you wish to use a cook, Atholl Estates can recommend Lovat Cooking, whose cooks will be more than happy to cook organic meals. Cookery demonstrations can also be put on should you wish to find out more about cooking organically. Lovat Cooking can be contacted on 01887 840352.
Farm Tours, Wildlife Tours and pony trekking can all be arranged to enable guests to explore and learn about the organic landscape. Our Farm Tours are of particular interest to organic devotees - one of Atholl Glens' farmers, Alexander Brewster at Rotmell Farm, is offering personalised tours where you can find out exactly what you want to know and ask all the questions you like.
There are plenty of other things to see and do in the area, though not all have an organic element - adventure sports, country sports, clay pigeon shooting, off-road driving, golf and, of course, all the fabulous hillwalking opportunities.
Three of Atholl Estates' lodges are available for organic breaks:
Old Blair sits just a few hundred metres from Blair Castle and was originally built as a coaching inn. The lodge is surrounded by the organic farmland of Balanloan Farm, one of Atholl Glens' founder farms.
The village of Blair Atholl is only a short walk away, as is the Glen Tilt walkers' car park from which many of the Ranger Service's waymarked trails start.

Glen Bruar Lodge is located at the top of Glen Bruar, 9 miles up a private road from the village of Calvine, just north of Blair Atholl. A true sense of privacy and seclusion exists in the glen.
Miles of tracks start from the front door, leading you into a wildlife haven - birds of prey can be seen soaring above the hills, grouse nest and feed in the heather and huge herds of red deer roam.
As well as wildlife, Glen Bruar lodge has plenty of pet animals you can meet and, if you want to get more involved, help feed and look after. Gamekeeper Dominic and his family keep Highland Ponies, cattle, sheep, pigs, ducks and guinea fowl.

Convalloch is the most southerly of Atholl Estates' lodges. Located approximately 3 miles from the small village of Ballinluig, and with easy access to Pitlochry and Aberfeldy, it provides an ideal base for those wishing to explore the Highlands.
A secluded location, a private lochan a few metres from the lodge and stunning views over lower Strathtay make Convalloch a wonderfully relaxing place to be.
Surrounded by the organic farmland of Balachallan, one of Atholl Glens' member farms, Convalloch attracts plenty of wildlife. Fallow and roe deer are frequent visitors to the gardens, whilst red deer can often be found out on the open hills beyond the lodge.
