Ingredients (serves 4)
50g celery, finely chopped
10g fresh ginger, finely chopped
70g onion, finely chopped
5ml sesame oil
1/2 tsp finely chopped chilli
1/2 tsp finely chopped garlic
500g steak mince
Seasoning
1 tin chopped tomatoes
1tbs chopped mixed fresh herbs - Italian parsley, thyme and rosemary (or substitute dried mixed herbs)
Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees centigrade (350F, Gas Mark 4)
Mix all the ingredients together, except the tomatoes and fresh herbs, then season to taste.
Shape desertspoonfuls of the mixture into balls and dry fry in a non-stick until brown. Transfer to an ovenware dish and pour over the tomatoes and herbs.
Cover and cook for approximately 1 hour. Add a little water during cooking if needed.
Serve with pasta.
